You may need SmartPhone Triage if you are a frontline investigator, a forensic lab professional or an officer from law enforcement agencies. SmartPhone Triage can easily help you to secure the digital evidence and generate report!
‣ When is the best timing to use it?
SmartPhone Triage comes to help once you get a mobile device and you want to check or extract anything from it on the scene. It can also do the jobs for you if you found out there are no other traditional forensics tools that can successfully extract
data from the device.
‣ How to start the capturing process?
After installing the SmartPhone Triage on your workstation, just execute the software and get the target phone connected. Then, you can start to use the screen capture and screen recording (iOS only) functions.
‣ How to connect the target phone to the workstation?
For an Android device, connect it using the cell phone cable and enable the “USB debugging” in the “Developer Options Menu”. Meanwhile, please make sure the android version of the target deviceis above 5.0.0.
For an iOS device, first connect the device to the same Wi-Fi / hotspot as your workstation, and then click the “start screen mirroring” in the software and turn on the screen mirroring of your iOS device.
‣ What will be upload to Blockchain?
Only the SHA-256 hash value of the report will be uploaded to Blockchain. You don’t need to worry about the risk of any sensitive information leakage.
During the process to generate report, you can optionally
tick the box “upload list’s hash to Blockchain” (it is not ticked by default). In that way, you can keep the pdf list in a safe place as a strong future evidence. After doing so, you can check whether the hash value
